Alternative medicine and counseling



When the world was created by the almighty he tried to answer all the question, anxieties, and curiosities of man. He made a key for every lock and the keys are present in nature. It’s now our responsibility to find those keys and unlock the mysteries of nature.
Everyone needs a healthy personality but what if we fall ill? Various medicines have been invented, but they have some or the other side-effects. The nature has taken care of it and has provided us with various herbs, medicinal plants, Chinese medicines and  others which can help one to cure diseases. The study of such health care and procedures which is based on using gifts of nature and not using any conservative medicines is alternative medicine.
Alternative medicine also includes physical exercises, spiritual therapies and practical hands on methods, which are used to treat ailments of therapies. These treatments help people to maintain their good health.
Counseling is a variety of alternative medicine. People tend to loose self-control, confidence, and becomes demotivated. A counselor can help one to regain his/her lost confidence and realize mental peace. Counseling helps to decide problems related to making decisions and how to overcome it.
Study of alternative medicine is increasing day by day as it has got many advantages like
·         It helps to cure problems on its own without any side effects.
·         It focuses on individual’s health and value of life.
·         Majority of the offered therapies are effective and safe.
·         It does not involve the risks as with conservative medicines.
One can pursue his studies in one of the following fields and have a better career as it involves least amount of risk and with proper knowledge one can find in it a better employment opportunity

The eligibility criterion for UG and PG programmes is as follows:
UG:
It’s a 2 years course and applying candidate must have completed his/her two years intermediate, HSC or equivalent course, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Diploma is a 1yr. course.

PG:
Student applying must have completed his/her bachelor degree from a recognized University. The duration for this is one year.

Career Prospects:
Alternative medicine practitioners have lots of scope in
·         medical field such as counseling, mental or physical therapy, healthcare department, naturopathic doctor, etc.
·         A graduate in alternative medicine can seek career option areas such as researcher, practitioners in Ayurvedic & homeopathic, hospitals, dispensaries and in government sectors.
·         Teaching jobs in universities
·         In research Institutions
·         In Drug and pharmaceutical companies as Research Scientists.
